So 2012 is upon us, and we hope you all had a brilliant festive period and are feeling fresh for the year ahead. It’s an exciting time for the digital world so we at Createful thought we’d give you a run down of some of the things we’re looking forward to the most in 2012:
Performance tracking
Obviously one of the first things that comes to mind when thinking of 2012 is the London Olympics. Although the games have been running for over 2,000 years, modern technology has helped improved athletes’ performances dramatically. One tech advanced that is already in place in football is the use of Adidas’ latest creation, the adizero f50 Powered by miCoach boot. Dubbed ‘the boot with a brain’, it monitors players performance data including speed, number of sprints, distance and time. This data is recorded by inserting the miCoach chip inside the boot and can wirelessly transmit data to an iOS device, where performance can be reviewed. Lionel Messi, along with several English Premier League players are already pushing the technology, so there are no reasons why this technology could not be seen at the London 2012 games.
