“Day by day, the number of devices, platforms, and browsers that need to work with your site grows. Responsive web design represents a fundamental shift in how we’ll build websites for the decade to come.” – Jeffrey Veen

Responsive web design is an approach that aims to give all users the optimal viewing experience regardless of the device they are using to view the site. This allows a single website to be tailored to each user’s needs, whether they are using a handheld device, tablet or desktop computer.

In 2011, 32.6 million subscribers accessed the internet via their mobile phones, an increase of nearly 10 million since 2010 [1]. Consuming data via mobile devices is fast becoming a normal part of everyday life.

Responsive websites can either be made up of several “breakpoints” where the layout will change at fixed intervals as determined by the visitor’s screen size, or they can used a percentage-based layout, that adapts to any screen size. We approach each web project differently, and design & build a tailored solution.
